Projection Mapping

We’ve been at the forefront of projection mapping services since the technology became available. So, we understand how to deliver the desired effect for any complex mapping project.

Since 2012, we have successfully executed over 30 projection mapping projects in New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond. Our work includes projection mapping onto the United Nations General Assembly, the American Museum of Natural History, the Brooklyn Public Library, the Brooklyn Bridge, and more.

There are a number of steps involved in a 3D mapping project. We serve our clients as their technological partner, guiding them through each one. We work with content artists, technical directors, motion graphic artists and projection mapping content artists to set up and calibrate the system on-site.

3D Models, Points Cloud, and UV Unwrap

The process of generating a 3D model for projection mapping begins with capturing the precise dimensions and geometry of the physical object. This can be done using photogrammetry, 3D scanning, or manual modeling in software like Blender or Maya. Once the model is created, it is refined to match the object’s scale, shape, and details. Textures and surface details may also be applied to ensure accurate light and shadow mapping. After finalizing the model, it is imported into a projection mapping software where content is aligned to the 3D form, allowing the projection to seamlessly integrate with the object’s contours and features.

We Use Only the Latest Projection Mapping Equipment

We have a vast stock of media server systems such as Christie Spyder X80, Disguise D3, Dataton Watchout, Mad Mapper & Resolume. We also own high lumen projectors, which allows us to offer our clients a turnkey solution, taking a projection mapping project from A-Z.

At ATD Audio Visual, we take care of every detail and carefully choose the mapping equipment for each project because we believe you deserve perfection. However, we also strive to provide affordable solutions, featuring the most recent technology and customized content.
